KATATONIA RELEASES ‘THE LONGEST YEAR’ EP
Four Song EP Now Shipping from the Peaceville Store

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Swedish master of melancholy, Katatonia, has unleashed ‘The Longest Year’, a new four track EP, available today through the Peaceville Records store. Alongside the new single, “The Longest Year”, taken from 2009’s, Night is the New Day, this new EP also features the previously unreleased track, “Sold Heart”, a remix of “Day and Then the Shade”, and an alternative version of “Idle Blood”, plus the videos for both “The Longest Year”, directed by Charlie Granberg (Bloodbath, My Dying Bride), and “Day and Then the Shade”, directed by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Opeth).

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - Sweden's elite progressive metal act, Katatonia, has launched a contest today, Monday December 21st, in conjunction with Omerch (www.OMerch.com) to celebrate the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, when night becomes the new day.

Dates Revealed for Headlining Spring Tour

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - Swedish progressive metal titan, Katatonia, has announced dates for a headlining European run, to kick off this spring. The "New Night Over Europe" tour will begin in Germany on March 3rd, and will hit over 30 cities, spanning across 14 countries, before wrapping up in early April. More details will be released in the coming weeks.
           The "New Night Over Europe" tour is Katatonia’s first tour in support of their eighth studio album, Night is the New Day, which released last month on Peaceville Records. The new record debuted in the US at #35 on the Billboard Indie Chart, doubling the first week sales of their highly acclaimed 2006 release, The Great Cold Distance.

In the lead up to the album's release, the band's MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter accounts have been overwhelmed by questions and inquiries from fans. Since the band has been on tour, they've been unable to answer most of these, so Peaceville Records has arranged to catch up with the band while they are in London. The band's answers will be filmed and posted on the Peaceville YouTube channel next week.
