MY DYING BRIDE TO RELEASE 20TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION
‘Evinta’ out next month on Peaceville Records
YORKSHIRE, UK - 2010 marked the 20th anniversary of UK doom titan, My Dying Bride. To commemorate two decades of doom and gloom from the elite British act, the band embarked upon a special project to re-work familiar melodies and themes from its extensive catalogue into long, flowing symphonic compositions, incorporating new vocals and passages from vocalist, Aaron Stainthorpe. These arrangements have been brought to life in co-operation with keyboard maestro, Johnny Maudling (of Bal Sagoth fame), as well as a clutch of talented classical musicians, and shared vocals courtesy of professional opera singer, Lucie Roche. The collection – titled Evinta - will be released on May 31st on Peaceville Records as a two-disc set and deluxe three-disc edition with 64-page book inspired by My Dying Bride’s illustrious recordings of the past two decades.
“Evinta. A project almost 15 years in the making. An idea that has sat smoldering and never really had a reason to burn alive until now. Nine albums worth of darkness recreated anew to mark 20 years of MDB. Music arranged to the soundscapes of sorrows past. Finally the 20th anniversary allows us to release this music in a form it has been desperately, woefully waiting for. Enjoy the Darkness.” - My Dying Bride
My Dying Bride has been the leading light of doom metal since the debut album, As the Flower Withers, was released on Peaceville Records back in 1992. Influenced by acts such as Celtic Frost and Candlemass, the band’s heavy atmospherics have carved a huge worldwide following over the years, as it remains a pinnacle of the genre.
The band's 20 year celebrations continue with a string of shows, entitled the “Albion In Ruin” tour, coming in May…
May 18 2011 The Electric Ballroom - London, England
May 19 2011 Manchester Academy – Manchester, England
May 20 2011 Wulfren Hall – Wolverhampton, England
May 21 2011 Button Factory – Dublin, Ireland

Autopsy drummer/vocalist, Chris Reifert, states, “We've brewed up the sickest and heaviest material that our rotten souls could possibly spew forth, and we are confident that it's our best stuff yet. The EP was a taste of what's to come, but now it's time for the full assault from beyond the grave.
“The album will contain no repeated EP tracks, no re-recorded old songs, no triggered trickery, and nothing less than the pure death metal brutality that Autopsy has always delivered."

BARREN EARTH – ‘CURSE OF THE RED RIVER’ WINS MULTIPLE METAL AWARDS
Acclaimed group to begin working on sophomore effort
HELSINKI, FINLAND – Finnish prog/death metal ensemble, Barren Earth, has wrapped up an extremely successful past year, having released its debut record, Curse of the Red River, in April 2010, while also completing the band’s first ever North American tour, the “Finnish Metal Tour 2” in February and March. Now the group has added to its surge of success, by being awarded “Newcomer of the Year” at the Finnish Metal Awards and “Debut of the Year” at the Metal Storm Awards.
Barren Earth bassist, Olli-Pekka Laine, stated, "Barren Earth’s first tour happened recently in US and Canada. Besides the good times we had among the group members and the other bands on the bill, it was fantastic to sense the positive vibrations from audiences all over North America. When we entered the stage to play the first gig in Orlando, we really didn't know what to expect. But since then, until the last show in Raleigh, audiences didn't let us down even once. I truly hope that the feeling was mutual. Thanks to all the people who appeared at the gigs!
“During the tour we found out that Barren Earth has been ranked to the #1 newcomer of the year in FINNISH METAL AWARDS. That evening we had a REAL reason to do some epic celebration... Another day we received an e-mail from our manager, where he told that our first album Curse of the Red River has won the Best Debut Album category in our Metal Storm Awards 2010. Another good reason to throw up an insane party!! I guess we never got over with it... Even though we've been around since the early 2008, it seems like the "rookie"-label won't be worn off that easy. In some sense it's quite flattering! So great thanks to everyone who has bought the album and voted for it. Stay cursed and see you on tour!"
In celebration of Barren Earth’s stellar success, a specially priced bundle pack of Barren Earth’s critically acclaimed debut EP, ‘Our Twilight’, and Curse of the Red River can be purchased through the Peaceville Records webstore for just $16 at: http://www.burningshed.com/store/peaceville/product/327/2362/.
Barren Earth is currently writing new material for its sophomore effort, which the band hopes to release later this year on Peaceville Records.

‘Khaos Legions’ out later this year on Century Media Records
WERMELSKIRCHEN, GERMANY – Swedish extreme heavy metal act, Arch Enemy, has posted photos from the band’s recent showcase in Wermelskirchen, Germany, as the group kicked off the campaign for its forthcoming studio album, Khaos Legions, due out later this year on Century Media Records. The photos from the March 14th gig at the AJZ Bahndamm – a self-governed youth centre which is well-known for its various underground metal, punk and hardcore shows – can be seen on the official Arch Enemy Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/archenemyofficial.
Only 150 die-hard fans and journalists from all over Europe witnessed the worldwide premiere of two new songs from the upcoming album. It was hot, it was sweaty, and it smelled like KHAOS.
Guitarist, Michael Amott, stated, "Normally, an 'industry'/media show is a quite stiff and slightly boring affair, not so this time! We invited 150 Arch Enemy fans to join us via our Facebook page and voilà - it was ON! We had a blast ripping through the two new songs for the first time on stage, and judging by the crowd reaction - they were feeling it too! A big thanks to all involved; the Century Media crew, AJZ Bahndamm crew, the journalists and of course the amazing fans! This was a perfect start to the KHAOS LEGIONS campaign!"
The set-list from Wermelskirchen was…
TEAR DOWN THE WALLS (INTRO)
REVOLUTION BEGINS
YESTERDAY IS DEAD AND GONE (NEW SONG)
RAVENOUS
MY APOCALYPSE

DARK INSANITY
I WILL LIVE AGAIN

WINTERUS SET TO RELEASE LIFEFORCE RECORDS DEBUT NEXT MONTH
‘In Carbon Mysticism’ due out April 26th
KALAMAZOO, MI – Michigan-based black metal group, Winterus, has announced an April 26th release date for its Lifeforce Records debut, In Carbon Mysticism, a record the band hopes will push the boundaries of black metal further than ever before, by creating a genre-defying psychedelic landscape built upon pummeling metal textures.
“We expect this album to change the way metal is heard from ear to ear,” said vocalist, Christopher Erich Neu. “With an honest delivery, including three live tracks, you can feel the passion of ever-maturing musicians that strive for something new and brilliant.”
In Carbon Mysticism consists of six studio tracks and three live recordings. The record was self-produced and engineered last winter in Battle Creek, MI, and mastered in Los Angeles by Maor Appelbaum (Cynic, Therion, Rob Halford).
“We wanted a lo-fi, self-produced sound, not polished and strict or hiding behind Pro Tools,” added Neu. “Sonically, it's a very honest approach.”
Artwork for In Carbon Mysticism comes courtesy of Joshua Davis, an artist the band had previously worked with, who was able to help achieve the simplistic and calm atmosphere Winterus was looking for.
“From the start we want people to understand the uniqueness of not having a flashy MySpace layout displaying unnecessary tweets about what a member is eating at what restaurant. As it is almost a necessary handle, in the same sense it feels out of touch.”
The track list for In Carbon Mysticism is…
01. Lone Wolves
02. Reborn
03. No Rest
04. Harmonious
05. Moonlust
06. Eternal Ghost
07. Christ Reign (recorded live)
08. Dusk Unveils (recorded live)
09. Through The Mist (recorded live)
Winterus originally formed in December 2009 under the name The Ancient, and quickly released an EP, 'A Frozen Path', in May 2010, which led to its signing with Lifeforce Records.
In Carbon Mysticism sees the band further developing its blackened death metal with a subtle atmospheric edge, drawing influence from such acts as Immortal, Enslaved, Napalm Death, and Nachtmystium.
The forthcoming album combines dark and intense atmospheres with unbridled attacks of grim and raw attitude dealing with themes of brutal honesty, isolation, philosophy, and real human emotion.
Stay tuned for more information on Winterus and In Carbon Mysticism, and be sure to tune into: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B87AAV5zf6Y for even more background on the exciting new group.
